Norwegian Krone to Ukrainian Hryvnia

The Norwegian krone (symbol: kr, code: NOK, number 578) is the national currency of Norway, valid in the country since 1874 to have replaced the Norwegian daler. Although nominally the krone is subdivided into 100 ore, coins denominations of less than 1 crone have been discontinued, and ore has existed only electronically since 2012. Every UAH has 100 kopiykas. The currency has been in circulation since 1996. Prior to that, there was the karbovantes, and even earlier there was the Soviet ruble. The word “hryvnia” comes for the term “mane”. It defined coins with strings, resembling a bright mane of a golden horse. The word became widespread in old Rus. It was used as a weight measurement.
