The Norwegian krone (symbol: kr, code: NOK, number 578) is the national currency of Norway, valid in the country since 1874 to have replaced the Norwegian daler. The name meaning "golden" was used to call so a ducat coin made of gold. Zloty is subdivided into 100 groszy. Upon the collapse of the socialist camp Poland has joined the EU, but has not yet become a member of the Eurozone, preferring to preserve its own national currency.
