The Norwegian krone (symbol: kr, code: NOK, number 578) is the national currency of Norway, valid in the country since 1874 to have replaced the Norwegian daler. Although nominally the krone is subdivided into 100 ore, coins denominations of less than 1 crone have been discontinued, and ore has existed only electronically since 2012. Every NAD has 100 cents. The currency has been issued since 1993. Its predecessor was the South African rand. A premise of creating its own currency was the fact that Namibia gained independence and organized its own national bank. These events date back to 1990.
