Norwegian Krone to Cape Verdean Escudo

The Norwegian krone (symbol: kr, code: NOK, number 578) is the national currency of Norway, valid in the country since 1874 to have replaced the Norwegian daler. Although nominally the krone is subdivided into 100 ore, coins denominations of less than 1 crone have been discontinued, and ore has existed only electronically since 2012. The Cape Verdean escudo (sign Esc, code CVE) is the official currency issued and spread on the territory of Cape Verde. Previously, one escudo could be subdivided into 100 centavos. Since 1994, 1 escudo has become the smallest coin of the country.

CVE was established as a national currency in 1914. Afterwards, the banknotes have been re-issued several times. The latest series was issued in 2014. The 100 escudo coin is of great interest. It is a decagon made out of a metallic alloy, embellished with representatives of local flora and fauna.
