Azerbaijan Manat to Armenian dram

The Azerbaijani manat (sign ₼, code AZN) is the currency that operates within Azerbaijan. Manat can be subdivided into qapik. AZN equals 100 qapik, at the moment, there are coins worth 1 qapik used in circulation.

The Azerbaijani manat has been adopted as the national currency in 1992 after the dissolution of the USSR replacing the Soviet ruble. The Armenian dram (sign ֏, code AMD) is the national currency of the Republic of Armenia, used within the borders of this Caucasian country. 1 dram could be previously subdivided into 100 lum. However, there are no coins or notes worth less than 10 dram used right now.

The currency has been issued in 1993 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Before that, the Soviet rubles had been in use. The country’s symbol on the notes was presented as iconic figures from the Armenian people, and as great architectural and art monuments as well. There is the national coat of arms and denomination decorated with a colorful design. The monetary unit’s name comes from the Greek drachma.
