Bulgarian Lev to Jersey Pound

The Bulgarian lev (international symbol: BNG, code: 975) is the national currency of Bulgaria. The lev is divided into 100 stotinki. Since 2002 the lev has been pegged to the euro at an exchange rate of 1.

The image of a lion on Bulgarian currency appeared in the 13th century. The first currency, called the “lion,” emerged in Bulgaria in 1879 and was in circulation in the country until 1952. The contemporary version appeared in 1999 after redenomination at a rate of 1000: 1.

The Kersey pound (sign £, code JEP) is a currency used on the territory of the Jersey Island. It circulates along with the pound sterling. Pence (pennies) are used as change for the Jersey pound.

Every JEP has 100 pennies. The currency was introduced in 1837, taking place of the outdated French livre. The official languages of the island are English and French. Notes and coins demonstrate two denominations simultaneously. One of them correlates with the pound, the other one – with the livre.
