Bulgarian Lev to Polish Zloty

The Bulgarian lev (international symbol: BNG, code: 975) is the national currency of Bulgaria. The lev is divided into 100 stotinki. Since 2002 the lev has been pegged to the euro at an exchange rate of 1.

The image of a lion on Bulgarian currency appeared in the 13th century. The first currency, called the “lion,” emerged in Bulgaria in 1879 and was in circulation in the country until 1952. The Polish zloty (symbol: zl,, code: PLN, number : 985) is the official currency in Poland. The money is called this way here since the 16th century. Modern zloty appeared in 1919 after Poland regained its independence.

The name meaning "golden" was used to call so a ducat coin made of gold. Zloty is subdivided into 100 groszy. Upon the collapse of the socialist camp Poland has joined the EU, but has not yet become a member of the Eurozone, preferring to preserve its own national currency.
