Afghan afghani to Zambian Kwacha

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Zambian kwacha (sign Kč, code ZMW) is the national currency of the Republic of Zambia used as a currency only within this state. Ngwee is used as change for the currency. Every Zambian kwacha consists of 100 ngwee.

The national Zambian currency was introduced in 1968 after the elimination of the Zambian pound. In 2013, the currency was denominated. The country’s central bank exchanges the old money to the new one. The changes have not influenced the look of this African currency.
