Afghan afghani to Russian Ruble

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Russian ruble (symbol ₽, code: RUB, number 643) is the national currency of the Russian Federation, which has replaced the Soviet ruble. The name is in use since the 13th century. The ruble is the second oldest state currency in the world after the British pound.

Due to the denomination of 1998 the ruble has lost its value and was exchanged at a rate of 1000old rubles for 1 one new, banknotes have obtained new features of protection. One ruble divides into 100 kopeks. The banknotes depict cultural and historical monuments, the cities of Russia.
