Afghan afghani to Iraqi Dinar

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Iraqi dinar (sign د.ع, code IQD) is the main currency of Iraq. Small coins called fils are formally used for change for the Iraqi dinar.

Every IQD has 1000 fils. However, since 1990, fils has not been used due to inflation. The currency has been issued since 1932. Before having its own currency, Iraq used the Indian rupee. Since their appearance, notes and coins have gone through several significant changes. Only one detail remained the same: all writing is duplicated in English and Arabic.
