Afghan afghani to Algerian Dinar

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Algerian dinar (sign DA, code DZD) is the official currency of Algeria. Centimes are the coins that are used as change for the Algerian dinar. One DZD includes 100 centimes.

The currency has been introduced into circulation in 1964. Previously, the country had used the Algerian franc. At the moment, the notes that were issued after 1977 are the main payment unit. Notes worth 100 dinars are being slowly replaced by coins. The currency depicts life scenes, prophets and stories from Quran.
