Afghan afghani to Dominican Peso

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Dominican peso (sign RD$, code DOP) is the currency spread and issued only in the Dominican Republic. It is also known as the “golden peso”. Change for the Dominican peso is centavo.

Ever DOP has 100 centavos. The coins are also known as the “golden centavos”. The currency has been issued since 1947. However, the first attempt to establish the currency dates back to 1844 and is connected to the country gaining independence from Haiti. Lately, some notes have been printed on a special polymer paper. It protects notes from damage in high temperatures and humidity.
