Afghan afghani to Colombian Peso

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Colombian peso (sign COL$, code COP) is the currency of Colombia, it is official only on the territory of the issuer country. Peso can be subdivided into centavos. One COP equals 100 centavos.

The currency has officially appeared in 1886, taking the place of the old Colombian real. Today, only those notes that were issued after 1995 are used in circulation. The notes have important Colombian figures represented on them. Among them, there is an artist Débora Arango, a poet José Silva, and one of the ex-presidents – Carlos Lleras Restrepo.
