Afghan afghani to Belizean Dollar

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Belize dollar (sign Bz$, code BZD) is the currency of the country located in Central America – Belize. Previously, the country was named British Honduras. Every Belize dollar can be subdivided into 100 cents.

The currency has been introduced in 1885. However, the design of the notes has gone through several changes. As for now, majority of circulation is money of a format of 2003. Old banknotes are slowly going out of use. Despite the name change, you can still feel the spirit of the British Empire in the country. Thus, modern $ notes have a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
