Afghan afghani to Bermudian dollar

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Islands of Bermuda are part of the Great Britain territory, although they are located far away from the main United Kingdom’s territory. Here, there is a separate currency called the Bermudian dollar (sign BD$, code BMD). The Bermudian cents are used as change for BMD.

There are coins worth 10 and 50 cents that are issued as of today. The $ currency has been issued since 1970 replacing the Bermudian pound. Commemorative coins are of special interest for numismatists. So-called “Bermuda triangles” have a corresponding shape, but are made out of different alloys and have different denomination.
