Afghan afghani to Bahraini dinar

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.

The Bahraini dinar (sign BD, code BHD) is the currency of Bahrain, used in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates for 8 years from 1966. Today, it is only used in circulation within Bahrain itself. Dinar’s coin is called fils.

One BHD equals 1000 fils. The currency has first been issued in 1966. Before that, Bahrain used the Gulf rupee for payment. The national central bank has undertaken the currency issuance since 2006. The rate of the national currency is connected to the American dollar.
