Singapore Dollar to Afghan afghani

The Singapore dollar (sign: S$, code: SGD, number: 702) is the national currency of Singapore. It replaced the dollar of Malaya and British Borneo. One dollar is divided into 100 cents.

The Singapore dollar is currently interchangeable with the Brunei dollar (BND) at a rate of 1 to 1. The largest denomination bills of 10 thousand dollars are discontinued, but remain legal tender, until totally exempted by the country's banks. The Singapore dollar is freely convertible and its exchange rate is determined by international currency trading.

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.
