Canadian Dollar to Indonesian Rupiah

The Canadian dollar (symbol: CA$, code: CAD, number 124) is Canada's monetary unit since 1858. It is subdivided into 100 cents. The Canadian currency is among the most traded on the world currency market.

The CAD exchange rate largely depends on the state of the economy of the neighboring United States and the changing position of the US dollar. Although several generations of dollars have already been produced in the country, old issues are still accepted. All banknotes printed after 1935 remain legal tender.

The Indonesian Rupiah (symbol: Rp, code: IDR, number: 360) is the official currency of Indonesia. Informally Indonesians use the word "perak" ("silver" in Indonesian) in referring to rupiah. The rupiah was first introduced in the country in 1945.

However, the modern version of the currency, the so-called new rupiah is being issued since the redenomination in 1965. The exchange was made at the rate of 1000 old rupees per new one. The rupiah formally is divided into 100 sens, but physically coins denominated less than 1 Rp are discontinued.
