Bosnian Convertible Mark to Afghan afghani

The convertible mark (sign KM, code BAM) is in circulation on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The banknote design is different depending on the territory of issuance. Only 200 KM has identical format.

Fenings are the coins that are used for change. One convertible mark of B&H correlates to 100 fenings. The currency has been issued in 1998 after the civil war between Bosnia and Herzegovina ended. The rate of the national currency of this European country is tied to euro. The regime of the Military Council is used to regulate conversion.

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.
