East Caribbean Dollar to Armenian dram

The Eastern Caribbean dollar (sign $, code XCD) is a currency circulating on the territory of 7 countries that are part of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States. The currency is accepted in Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, and the Grenadines. The Eastern Caribbean dollar can be exchanged to cents.

One XCD equals 100 cents. The currency was introduced in 1965, taking the place of the outdated West Indies dollar. The Eastern Caribbean dollar has changed its look quite a lot. There were monarchs, outstanding politicians, cultural and art figures. In 2019, there were presented new notes made out of a polymer base. They were made in a vertical format.

The Armenian dram (sign ֏, code AMD) is the national currency of the Republic of Armenia, used within the borders of this Caucasian country. 1 dram could be previously subdivided into 100 lum. However, there are no coins or notes worth less than 10 dram used right now.

The currency has been issued in 1993 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Before that, the Soviet rubles had been in use. The country’s symbol on the notes was presented as iconic figures from the Armenian people, and as great architectural and art monuments as well. There is the national coat of arms and denomination decorated with a colorful design. The monetary unit’s name comes from the Greek drachma.
