Saudi Arabian Riyal to Norwegian Krone

The Saudi riyal (sign SR, code SAR) is a currency circulating only within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is not accepted outside the state. Halalah is used as change for the Saudi riyal.

One SAR equals 100 halalas. The currency has been issued since 1928 after eliminating the Gulf rupee. Officially, there are smaller denomination coins – halalas. However, in cash payment, they are not used anymore. All prices are rounded to riyals.

The Norwegian krone (symbol: kr, code: NOK, number 578) is the national currency of Norway, valid in the country since 1874 to have replaced the Norwegian daler. Although nominally the krone is subdivided into 100 ore, coins denominations of less than 1 crone have been discontinued, and ore has existed only electronically since 2012. The banknotes design bears traditional Scandinavian decorations depicting ships, lighthouses, sea waves, cod.

The exchange rate varies depending on oil prices and other economic factors. The average inflation index is low,e.g. in autumn 2019 it was only 1.8%. During 2017 - 2019, all old banknotes were replaced in the country. They can be exchanged in banks until 2028.
