New Zealand Dollar to Afghan afghani

The New Zealand dollar (international symbol: NZ$, code: NZD, number: 554) is the official currency of New Zealand, Tokelau, Pitkern, Niue and the Cook Islands. 1 dollar is divided into 100 cents. Locally the money is called "kiwi" to commemorate the famous flying bird which is depicted on $1 notes.

It was officially introduced in 1967 to replace the pound. Since 1999 durable polymer fibers are used in production of banknotes.

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.
