Moroccan Dirham to Ghanaian Cedi

The Moroccan dirham (sign DH, code MAD) is the national currency of the Kingdom of Morocco. The currency is not used in other countries. Centimes are used as change for the Moroccan dirham.

Every MAD has 100 centimes. The currency first appeared in 1961. It came as a replacement for the outdated currency of the Moroccan franc. The currency stands out with its stable rate. According to the law of the Kingdom of Morocco, it is illegal to export more than 500 dirhams without the government’s approval.

The Ghanaian cedi (sign GH₵, code GHS) is the currency used in circulation in Ghana. The currency is not used outside the country. The Ghanaian cedi uses pesewa as change.

One cedi equals 100 pesewas. In 1965, the cedi became the sole currency in the country. Before that, Ghana had changed its currency several times. Since the country was a British colony, its territory allowed pounds sterling and later on, it was replaced with the West African pound. Afterwards, the Ghanaian pound took its place. All notes, except 50 cedi, depict portraits of the state’s politicians. The 50-cedi banknote portrays the cocoa fruit.
