South Korean Won to Afghan afghani

The South Korean won (international symbol: ₩, code: KRW, number: 410) is the currency of South Korea. Pronounced  [wʌn]. The national currency appeared in the country after World War II in 1945.

However, the contemporary won was released in 1962, replacing the hwan which was temporarily used in Korea. The hundredth part of the won - jeon does not exist in the format of a payment tool, and is used only in mathematical accounting. Coins of small denominations of 1 and 5 won are almost out of use.

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.
