Chilean Peso to Afghan afghani

The Chilean peso (sign $, code CLP) is the national currency issued and spread only in Chile. The Chilean peso can be changed into coins named centavo. Every CLP has 100 centavos.

The currency had appeared in circulation in 1817, but was later replaced with escudo. However, the Chilean peso has been issued again. Today, both currencies are used at the same time. In 2008, the state mint has issued 50 commemorative coins with a misspelling of the country’s name. Some of these coins were sold at auction. Having a face value of 50 peso, their price could go up to 20 thousand peso. This nuisance led to the fact that the head of the mint was fired.

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.
