Bahamian Dollar to Afghan afghani

The Bahamian dollar (sign B$, code BSD) is used for payment in the Bahamas. Cent is used as change for the Bahamian dollar. Every BSD has 100 cents.

The currency has been introduced into circulation in 1966. Before that, pound sterling was used as the currency. There is an agreement signed between the Bahamas and the USA that allows to use both currencies on the territory of the island. Thus, tourists, who come on vacation, can use the American dollar to pay for services and purchases.

Afghani (sign ؋, code AFN) is the currency of Afghanistan which is not used for payment in other countries. One afghani equals 100 pul coins. Afghani has been issued since 1926.

Originally, coins made only out of silver were used on the territory of the Islamic state. First notes were printed in 1935. The Afghan rupee had been used hand in hand with afghani until 1978. Up until 2002, there had been different types of afghani used in the country and issued by different military and political organizations: “davlati” and “dostumi”, but the new leader, Hamid Karzai, reformed the currency leaving only one type. Banknotes had architectural monuments, key industries and infrastructure depicted on them.
