Bermudian dollar to Syrian Pound

The Islands of Bermuda are part of the Great Britain territory, although they are located far away from the main United Kingdom’s territory. Here, there is a separate currency called the Bermudian dollar (sign BD$, code BMD). The Bermudian cents are used as change for BMD.

There are coins worth 10 and 50 cents that are issued as of today. The $ currency has been issued since 1970 replacing the Bermudian pound. Commemorative coins are of special interest for numismatists. So-called “Bermuda triangles” have a corresponding shape, but are made out of different alloys and have different denomination.

The Syrian pound (sign £S, code SYP) circulates on the territory of Syria. It is also known as the Syrian lira. Small coins – piastres – are used as change.

One SYP equals 100 piastres. They are also known as qirsh. Technically, the coins exist, but are not used in circulation. The currency was issued in 1998, after the end of the civil war between Bosnia and Herzegovina. The rate of the national currency of this European country is tied to euro. The regime of the Military Council is used to regulate conversion.
