Bermudian dollar to Malaysian Ringgit

The Islands of Bermuda are part of the Great Britain territory, although they are located far away from the main United Kingdom’s territory. Here, there is a separate currency called the Bermudian dollar (sign BD$, code BMD). The Bermudian cents are used as change for BMD.

There are coins worth 10 and 50 cents that are issued as of today. The $ currency has been issued since 1970 replacing the Bermudian pound. Commemorative coins are of special interest for numismatists. So-called “Bermuda triangles” have a corresponding shape, but are made out of different alloys and have different denomination.

The Malaysian ringgit (symbol: RM, codes: MYR and 458) is the official currency of Malaysia. One ringgit is subdivided into 100 sens (cents). The name of the currency is translated from Malay as "jagged.

" The banknotes depict the first head of the independent Malaysia King Tuanku Abdul Rahman. The contemporary currency replaced the Malaysian dollar, which was in use from 1967 through 1976. The currency shows low inflation - 1.1% as of autumn 2019. Until 1973 Brunei and Singaporean money were accepted in the country.
