Bangladeshi Taka to Croatian Kuna

The Bangladeshi taka (sign ৳, code BDT) is the national currency used and issued in the Republic of Bangladesh. Until recently, 1 taka correlated to 100 coins – poysha. Today, they are not used in circulation.

The Bangladeshi taka has appeared in 1972. Before that, the republic was in the Pakistan union and used the Pakistani rupee. While issuing commemorative banknotes devoted to the 40th anniversary of the currency, there has been made an unpleasant mistake in the name of the country. Afterwards, it was fixed, but the notes now are part of different private collections.

The Croatian Kuna (symbol: kn, codes: HKR and 191) is the official currency of Croatia, which existed from 1941 through 1945,and was revived in 1994. The name is given in honor of marten pelts, which in the old times was a means of payment. The new Banknotes completely replaced the Croatian dinar by 1995.

Kuna is subdivided into 100 lipa. Banknotes bear images depicting palaces, fortresses, portraits of historical figures of the country. Although the country has joined the EU since 2013, the transition to the euro has not yet taken place. The authorities of Croatia are considering the issue of joining the Eurozone.
